Mushkin 993997 and Asus P9X79 Deluxe - unable to cohabit?

Hello,

I am unable to run 16 gb of the praised Mushkin 993997 on Asus P9x79 Deluxe. I've tried many settings. Even when the mobo is set to auto (i.e. memory is clocked at 1333 Mhz) it won't run. BUT if I leave only 8 GB of memory or 4 GB it runs. But when plugging all four BSOD 0x0000007E (0xFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0xFFFFF8000C369AA5, 0xFFFFF880009A8838, 0xFFFFF880009A8090). This has been going for a while...

Actually there are many instances of 0x0000007E (but the parentheses content differs slightly)

All four sticks pass Memtest on all four light blue slots in the motherboard. It seems that up to 8GB of Mushkin are accepted. However when all 16GB are present impossible to reach Windows safely. However if I plug in 8GB (2x4GB) Mushkin and 8GB (2x4GB) HyperX Predator together they are able to run Windows. It seems very strange.

What are your ganging settings in your BIOS, it seems you have a problem running quad channel (most modern BIOS will revert to dual channel if there is two different types of RAM in them).

Chances are some of the timings need to be relaxed to get 4 sticks of that memory stable.
