Hi friends,

I am planning on upgrading my MOBO from an P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 LGA 1155 Z68 ATX to an ASUS ROG Maximus V Extreme LGA 1155 Intel Z77 Extended. I currently have an EVGA 04G-P4-2686-KR NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 4096MB GDDR5 PCIe 3.0 x16 Video Card and am planning to purchase a second one for the SLI.

Current processor which I am planning on keeping is the Core i7 2600K 3.4GHz LGA 1155.

My questions:

1. Is this the right MOBO for the job or is there another MOBO you would recommend.

2. Should I upgrade the processor to an Intel 3rd generation CPU?

I am interested mainly in getting the most power and FPS for gaming and multitasking work.

Thanks!

Regards,
Angellus.

upgrading to a 3rd gen i7 will yield only minute improvements, if any. you should OC ur CPU. you should EASILY be able to get 4.4GHz.

any decent mobo will work on SLI. I hear lots of good things about the ASUS, and I'm sure it'll work well.
