Hello friends

I recently upgraded my CPU AMD Athlon 64 x2 7750 to a Phenom II x4 975 and my current mobo (M3N78) does not support AM3 socket. I was looking at the M4A79T deluxe for $55 on eBay http://www.asus.com/Motherboard/M4A79T_Deluxe/ it is kinda out dated but I don't need anything top end or 2013 model ( or do I :p) I just wanted to get some thoughts on this mobo. I read good reviews on newegg but last one was like 2011.

Also if you can recommend some ddr3 memory that would be great, unless I can run ddr2 and get away with it.

AMD Phenom II x4
ASUS M3N78
XFX ATI 5770
BFG tech 800w ps
DDR2 memory

Solution
I had a M4A79 Deluxe (same as T version but DDR2) and it worked very well with a Phenom 9950 and then with a Phenom II 965 oced to 3,9.
I also ran 8 gb RAM @1066.
It's a great mobo the only drawback is its SATA controller that is slower than newers. I own a Samsung SSD 470 Series and according to some benchmark it works quickly on my new mobo (ASUS Sabertooth R2.0 990FX). Not so much (20 MB/S read and write) but with newers SSD the difference can be big.
Apart from that is a rock solid mobo (ASUS =))
