Hey,

I have been using the standard windows 7 driver that comes with the os for my realtek high definition audio card that is integrated onto my mb. Should I be using the official driver for it or will doing that slow it down. I have heard that realtek drivers slow the pc down. Or is using the windows 7 stock driver doing just that and I should have it installed. Will it also give me better sound?

The drivers provided by Windows are usually limited and do not give full access to customization or features. The official drivers provided by Realtek usually inlcude a control panel application, allowing for more customization options. It is true that it may slow down your pc but that will be barely noticeable. My recommendation is that you use the drivers provided by Realtek.
