Dell laptop tab key not working

I have a Dell Laptop Inspiron 1764. I am not sure how to fix the tab key but it is the only key that is not working, what do I do to fix it?

might just be a crumb or something under it

try a very small paintbrush to clean under it

or if you are brave gently pull the key off to get easier access under it

you must do it carefully though cos if you pull the whole mechanism off rather than just the key its a pain to put

back on--if you just take the key off it just clicks back on with downward pressure from your finger
