Hi so I am building a new computer for the first time and following the tutorial by NewEgg on Youtube. The person plugged in a firewire cable that came from the computer case but when I looked for one on mine, I could not find it. Do I need this cable?
Thanks!

Unless you plan on using an external Firewire device, No. A word of caution when plugging the front panel connectors. On-board Firewire and USB slots are exactly the same (but usually a different color) so it is possible to get them wrong. Getting them in the wrong slots can fry your motherboard. This has happened to a couple of recent posters. Follow the instructions in your motherboard manual carefully.

Ok one more question. I am starting to plug in the SATA cables from the power supply to the optical and SSD to the mobo. What is the difference between the SATA 3 and SATA II. Which one should I use?

Okay so I can plug in my SSD 6.0GB/s into the SATA 3 port in my mobo right? And what about the optical drive? Can I plug that into the 6.0GB/s as well? I only have 6.0GB/s cables btw.
Thanks!
