I bought a 2GBs ddr3 memory stick for my ASUS P5G41T-M LX...
I tested the RAM with memtest86 and gave me errors...
I sent a message to the manufacturer and he told me that the issue was that my board can accept only ECC sticks...
But i read somewhere that non-ecc sticks can do work on my board...
The difference between ECC and non-ECC is that ECC has an extra chip on the memory that performs Error Checking and Correcting functions.
Non-ECC memory is more recommended to home systems unless you KNOW you need the ECC function, just that! ECC and non-ECC memory can almost always be mixed in the same system with no problems too. If you mix these types of memory, the system will run as if all the memory was non-ECC,so,at least this ECC would be recognize as non-ECC... This is errors of a bad sector/s... So,i think he's trying to fool me...

What do you people think?
