This is a good mobo for future proof....when DDR3 becomes mainstream, you could easily buy a pair of 4GB DDR3 1600 without buying a new mobo...Also when the last of the Penryns (FSB 1600) is release, it is also compatible...

This is the advantage of having the memory controller on the mobo, you can put different dimms, DDR2/DDR3 just like in the Pentium 4 days where there are mobos with SDram/DDR....
