I have the ENERMAX Galaxy with q6660/8800gtx/striker extreme/2* raptor HDD/2* DVD Burner/X-FI Gamer/200mm fan/4* 120mm fan...

It is fantastic, looks pretty cool but it is Massive...seriously man, its huge, make sure you have room.

I have the Ultra myself, 8800GTX, Q6600 @ 3.82, 9 120mm fans, Crystalfontz LCD & Fan control, 2 HD (750GB WD, 250GB Maxtor), GA-P35C-DS3R, Watercooled (so pump), 2 DVD+RW

Definitely no power problems what-so-ever with this beast.

Myself I wanted the Modular so that is what decided me on this one. Still, as others have posted - both of these are big so make sure you have the room.

Personally I would go with a Thermaltake which is superior to the Galaxy. I have never heard of the Ultra but with high-end PSU you frequently get what you pay for. I have the 1.2kw version, when I did my research I was looking for a 1000W unit but found the 1.2K version for $20 more. The reviews sites all agreed on the superiority of the Thermaltake. The non-modular one sells for $319 at Newegg but can be found around $280. Just google for reviews on the models you want and judge for yourself.

How long have you had the psu? Did you just get it and it made your system unstable? Is your GTX oc'ed? Maybe one of your oc's is unstable. The PC power and cooling is probably the best psu of the three in contention. Maybe it went bad or was defective.

i had it for 2 weeks tested ... no gtx not overclocked.. cpu is stable.

Agreed with zenmaster. The Silencer has a good warranty, use it.

I have a Silencer 750/Q6600/8800GTX/5 fans/3 hard disks myself, and the PSU is nowhere near its limits. All very stable. The only time I get crashes is in Hellgate (which is a known piece of junk).

Hi waly

Your rig will need nothing like 750Watts. You say you have a PSU thats not working??!! How have you determined this??? What about the CPU OC is that really stable (does the system work at stock)?? ...

PC Power and Cooling are the best PSU brand on the market. All their models will cope with a 10% brownout. I currently use the PCP&C 850W model and it works great (dual Opteron rig with a PCIe X1950Pro)!!

A single GTX is like 115W (at stock) and a Q6600 is like around 50W (OC). You should be able to run the 9800gx2 (if it ever materializes) without upgrading your PSU!!

Bob

P.S. Makes me lauf all those newbies suggesting you buy the other supplies you suggested!! Sure like we've all got money to burn... :pt1cable:
