M ATX mobo that is compatible w 2400 Cas 9 Ram

I am looking for a micro ATX mobo that will will support 2400 mhz ram. It looks like only ATX mobo's are listed as compatible for 2400. I wanted to use ASUS p8z77 m pro but and the gskill F3-2400C9D-8GTXD http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=577. Did I just miss finding some brand of ram that supports matx mobo's or is there a reason for this. Is it worth a try and use a mobo not listed or a high probability it won't work

According to NewEgg here the ASUS P8Z77-M PRO will run 2400MHz ram (overclocked) with an Ivy bridge CPU. According to Asus here http://www.asus.com/Motherboard/P8Z77M_PRO/#support_QVL there are 17 2400MHz ram that should work (they do have footnotes below that though)
