Help please...
when I run Windows Experience Index the Graphics both show 7.5s and the details show DirectX 10, but when I run dxdiag tool it says DirectX version 11. I had 7.6s before I updated to the latest driver from Clevo. So then I uninstalled the driver and reinstalled the old driver from the disk again but still 7.5s. I don't know if it recognized the DirectX 11 before.
I then loaded the latest driver from nVidia and then I got 6.0s for both. ?!?!?!
Ideas? Why wouldn't Windows Experience Index see DirectX 11?

You're drivers are not up to date. You are running 268.49.

Here is a link to the correct driver download for your 580M. (I gave you the link for WHQL Drivers instead of beta drivers)
http://www.nvidia.com/object/notebook-win7-winvista-64bit-285.62-whql-driver.html

Reinstall you're drivers again after downloading but this time hit "custom (Advanced)" when prompted. After that, Check the box that says "perform a clean installation."

You will have to restart your computer. After that installation should be complete

apart from anything WEI sucks so i wouldnt worry too much about what it says

my 6gbs ssd only gets 7.3 on it and it reads and writes at 550mbs and 515mbs in atto

yet if i plug in my old 3gbs ssd which scores 250mbs and 70mbs in atto WEI gives it a 7.8

if you want to check your graphics performance then use something like passmark--free for 30 days and allows

you to check the result against similar set ups--can select gpu only tests or test the whole pc

Thanks BigPoppaStuke. That is the driver i tried last and it brought the index way down to 6.0s for both.
I will try the passmark test with the existing driver and then update again to the latest as mentioned and then run passmark again. I don't really care what WEI says but i took it as an indication that Windows might not be recognizing the DirectX11. We'll see what passmark says.
At least my Kingston HyperX 120 reads 7.9 with AHCI and SATA III. Very happy with that at least.

nah WEI reports directx 10 for me as well when i read the detailed report--and ive been playing dirt3 in dx11

as i said its rubbish--but it is annoying to see my score go

7.8 for cpu

7.8 for ram

7.9 aero

7.9 gaming graphics

then a 7.4 disk data when my read write speeds are so high

even the 7.8 for cpu annoys me when my 2600k is at 5ghz what the hell do you need for a 7.9?

Ha ha, don't mean to laugh but it seems like they gave you a 7.8 cpu just because they want you to keep coming back for more and spending more. must have been the Windows PR or Marketing idea.

If this is a laptop, the score you're seeing may be based on the igp and not the gpu.
When running 2D the IGP should be switched on and when going to 3D then the GPU in use should switch to the 580M.

Run furmark in a window, benchmark mode. It will indicate which graphics unit is being used and then compare that score.
