I'm building a computer and I was wondering if someone could recommend a good set of memory for it. I intend to have a ASUS Maximus V EXTREME LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Extended ATX Intel Motherboard with the Intel Core i7-3770K Ivy Bridge 3.5GHz (3.9GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4000 BX80637I73770K in a Rosewill BLACKHAWK-ULTRA Gaming Super Tower Computer Case. It's probably overkill for my purposes, but I never know where I might go with a computer and I want to keep future options open.

You have 4 x DIMM whose Max. is 32GB, DDR3 2800(O.C.)/2666(O.C.)/2600(O.C.)/2400(O.C.)/2200(O.C.)/2133(O.C.)/2000(O.C.)/1866(O.C.)/1600/1333/1066

I would recommend to go over a 16 Gb 1600mhz ram kit . Brand is upto individual preference. Mine is G.skill Ripjaws . I do not think you would be needing more than 16 gb.

Thanks for the response. I read that some people were having problems getting Corsair Vengeance chips to operate at 1600. Apparently, they were having to change some BIOS parameters to increase from 1333 out of the box. I'm kinda new at this and just want to know that the chips I get will operate at at least 1600 out of the box. Also, I've never overclocked so I was wondering about the higher speed ratings (marked "o.c.") on the chips and how I would be able to take advantage of them. Any enlightenment for me?

My motherboard is ASUS H77 and I use Corsair Vengeance 1600. It operates 1333 out of the box. To get it to run at 1600, you simply go to Bios and select the XMP profile. Considering your super-impressive system, why settle on 1600? Why not just get at least 2000Mhz? Corsair has 2x8GB 2400Mhz RAM, get two of those to run 32GB of RAM to really max out the system.

Twiking some bios settings would give you the required 1600 mhz over the z77 chipset. And try to avoid the O.C. ram versions unless you are well adapted to all those stuffs and overclocking. And last but not the least ,never go near the maximum memory prescribed for your motherboard - it sometimes leads to trouble. If you have ram free roaming around you...thats another stuff. But do not waste money on 32 gb because if not working you will be putting your money in water. 16 gb is more than enough - some particular setups with sli/crossfirex/64 bit with high multitasking may require 8 gb and some multi video conversions require 16 gb at the most.I have never seen any application using as much as 32 gb. So chill and go with a standard 1600 mhz 16 gb RAM kit.
