Can u replace a 220v power cord for imac with a 110v power cord for imac?

hi im in the military and i bought a european iMac with a 220v outlet and we are leaving soon and wanna know if i can just buy the 110v power cord and it will work? iv also heard that i can just get an adapter and it will still work but the power supply will be low will somebody help me out?

The cord shouldn't be a problem and the power supply should be auto-sense type, but check the volatage requirements (normally indicated by the power connector or manual).
