Hello,

I recently upgraded to a radeon hd 6950 from a 5750 and have been experiencing problems with all my games. I am randomly getting fps drops which pretty much freeze up my game for about 10 seconds at a time. Sometimes the sound stutters while this is happening and other strange things occur (on bf sometimes my weapon will dissappear)

This issue has been effecting all my games World of Warcraft, bad company 2, dead island and most recently battlefield 3.

I am not entirley sure what is causing this problem however I am certain it began after installing my new card these issues never occured on my old card. I have also tried different driver versions but theres no change.

My specs:

Windows 7 Home premium 64 bit
ASUS M4A78LT-M LE motherboard
AMD phenom II x2 3.20ghz
sapphire radeon HD 6950
4gb RAM

If anyone can help me with this isuue i would really appreciate it, thanks in advance.

hmm, i think you have bottleneck issue your current cpu is not enough to feed hd 6950 nowaday quad-core cpu is recommended for these types of games.

its your cpu that holding back your gpu .You should either unlock it to a quad core or buy a quad core

If it's doing it on WoW, I'm not certain a bottleneck would be causing a freeze, though it is possible. It's about time for a CPU upgrade anyway, but I'm just doubting the bottleneck being the only problem.
