you will not face any bootleneck.just overclock it to about 4~4.5 ghz.a 6950 is the best option for you IMO>>>

You can't overclock 955 to 4GHz+ on air.Its simply too unstable.Also OCing won't help if he's CFing.

silly question(I'm a noob):I don't how to overclock
and how much does a sandy bridge cpu cost?

That depends on your system:

Motherbord:H67 based would cost around Rs5000-6000k
P67/Z68 based starting from Rs10k and above.

CPU:if you chose H67 bsed chipset,then you should go for i5 2400(NO OVERCLOCKING),price around RS 9k
if you choose P67/Z68 ,go for i5 2500K/i7 2600k.(EXTREME OCing),Price around Rs10K.

Why wouldn't overclocking help if he is crossfires?

@OP: Sandy Bridge is definitely the way to go if you can afford it. I would recommend the i5-2500k. It is very easy to overclock and with decent cooling should reach 4.5ghz without much of a problem. Here is a comparison with the 955;

The above ignores overclocking so the difference is actually significantly greater if you were to do so.

I mean even the oced 955 would cause bottleneck if he crossfires two 6950.

I think almost anything would bottleneck crossfired HD6950s at 1680x1050 in a lot of games.

Yes true but an oced 2500k would be certainly less bottle necking than an oced 955.That's all I meant.Nothing else.

no,the exact price GC and does that amd phenom still bottleneck in single 6950

ASUS DirectCuII 6950 2GB @Rs14000 +VAT
No,it wont if you overclock. Also get good memory like Corsir vengeance/Gskill sniper etc.

Its very easy to overclock. It is even easier to overclock black edition cpus. You have to increase the CPU multiplier.Thats it.Also hundreds of guides are available online for advanced overclocking.
A decent 500-600Mhz OC is easily achievable. And yes you would see difference.

but if I overclock too much, does it blow or damge my CPU or Mobo or just restrart my PC to change settings?

You would get signs like frequent BSODs,freezing etc.Damaging your CPU is extremely unlikely because it would just restart and set the system to default.

A phenom can oc past 4.0ghz on air as i have personally managed this.

Don't you think that's too extreme for a newbie??Also overclocking beyond 4ghz on air is very rare.In most reviews they couldn't get past 3.9Ghz.
