Is there a limit for CPU speed in programs?

What I mean is that, is there a limit on how much speed can an ordinary application use out of a CPU running at 5ghz and higher?
For example. If google chrome or Microsoft Word runs very fast on a Core i5 2500k @ 5ghz, will they run noticeably faster at 6ghz.

It might run faster a bit faster, but it wouldn't be noticeable I can imagine. I mean with power savings, my CPU runs at 800mhz. When I'm multi-tasking and when my CPU is at 3.8Ghz, I don't notice a difference on my web browsers.

There are a lot of tasks/programs that are easy on a processor and actually would benefit more from a faster hard drive than increased processing speed.
