I recently purchased a 6950 ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150530 ) and I installed the drivers that came with the card, but they were not the latest drivers (I realized that after I installed them). So after installing the ones off the cd, I dled the ones off amd's website and tried installing the drivers but for some reason after finishing the installation of the drivers and restarting the pc I still had the same drivers ( 9/8/2011 version: 8.892.0.0). I tried again by uninstalling all of the drivers I had (Express Uninstall ALL AMD Software) and installing again and no luck.

I tried researching for an answer but I have had no luck. I am wondering if there is something I am missing or something I messed up while installing the drivers. Thank you for any help in advance.

I installed something last night that updated me from 9/8/2011 to 10/16/2011 so thats good, but some of my software is displaying different drivers, that I just noticed as you mentioned them.

My Catalyst is for some reason 11.10, is that better than 11.9?

Device Manager/Display Drivers/ AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series is saying
driver date: 10/16/2011
driver version: 8.901.2.0

System Information/Components/Display shows no driver date but has driver version.
driver version: 8.901.2.0

MSI Afterburner shows.
driver version: 7.14.10.0867.
catalyst: 11.10

MSI Kombustor shows:
drivers: 8.901.2.0
catalyst: 11.10 (10-16-2011)

I could not play BF3 tho so I reverted the drivers back and I ended up having 9/8/2011. The amd website shows 11.9 being released on 9/28/2011, so how I had 10/16/2011 is beyond me, and the website doesn't even show it. I hate messing with my pc but if updating my drivers can get me a bit more fps I would love my beast even more.

It would crash 10 out of 10 times so I reverted the drivers back ( I think it was a Crossfire update only, but I have no idea how it could have messed anything up). BF3 is a sick game but I am very disappointed with the graphics and the occasional green large block/screen I get once in a while. They need to make improvements soon so the game can truly run how it should, and my gpu is like the top 5 out there wtf. All i'm saying is that I would love to be able to at least have my pc updated to the max so then I know it's not my fault if the game is not runing smoothly, but
something else.

I appreciate everyone's patience and support, thank you all.

My 6950 is not oced but if I need to I could oc it to play with more fps(I don't know how to tho), it runs ultra but near 40-30 fps and sometimes 23 at lowest on 21" 1680x1050
