Hi

My firt post on the forum but glad to find.

Just looking for opinions on my choice of components for a pc i would like to build, as the most i have achieved before is replacing RAM or PSU's.

I am going to purchse the parts (alraedy brought PSU and case), but would appreciate any advice.

Case: Envizage E-3391 Black Blue

PSU:Coolermaster Gx 750w

Motherboard/CPU: ASUS P8Z68-V LX Motherboard/Intel Core i5 2500k 3.3GHz Quad Core

RAM:Kingston HyperX 8 GB (2 x 4 GB)

GPU:
Evga NVIDIA GeForce GTX550Ti 1GB

Hard Drive: I hav'nt decided yet as they are expensive. I would like 500mb-1tb and 7200speed idealy, but would appreciate any suggestions
Im building this PC primarily for gaming and multitasking, ie internet, music, photo processing etc.
I would be looking to add a cheap dvd and floppy drive to the list, aswell as an OS ofcourse, but i havnt used win7 before. I guess 64 would be advised for gaming purposes
What are the options for overclocking, and wonder if there are any options for improvement. Most of the components i found on ebay, for what i think would be the best price, but id be happy to be proven wrong :)
This is all based on a budget of £500, but i realised that with my taste for expense, i have quickly run into a wall, cheaper options would be gratefully recommended.

Thanks for any comments made.....oh and merry xmas

Very nice build you have planned, cheap and does the job!

Especially the case. I have never seen or even heard of the thing before, but the price of that thing says everything. A decent looking mid tower with a side panel and led fans for less than £30. That is incredible.

I would recommend a different psu. Do you really need a 700w psu for a 2500k and a 550 ti? Nope.
Antec Earthwatts 500w should do the trick

Form what know about the Intel vs AMD saga, Intel still has the higher results in benchmark tests. I know that i was thinking about AMD at one point, as i was supposed to have done this thing on a budget, but i'd rather shell out a little more.

I thought the case was a bargain, and for the sheer look of it i was very happy. Avieor, I agree with you on the psu, but now i have bought the first 1. I read the horror stories about buying a cheap psu, and had been suffieciently scared.

There is a difference between buying a cheap psu and a quality psu for cheap.

Buying a cheap psu means it may not be any good and could fail out on you, he's just paying too much for something he doesn't need.

Antec are a trusted brand and the psu is cheap in terms of price, but not cheap in terms of quality.
