Phenom II x4 965 Black Edition Reporting as 1.6ghz?

I just received this CPU as a gift. It is supposed to be 3.4ghz but only reports as 1.6ghz in windows. I tried loading the optimal/default settings in the BIOS to make make it auto set everything but, that didnt help/ I disabled Cool and Quiet as well. Here are CPUz screenshots of the CPU and Motherboard.

Any help would be appreciated!

u need to change the multiplier to 18 im sure thats wot its meant to be at.

I forgot if Cool n Quiet affects windows power savings, but try and see what your power saving options are like as well. If that's not the case, then yeah, just change the multiplier in the BIOS.

have you updated your bios to the newest version for your motherboard? The 125w version of your cpu is supported only since bios version f8. Your core voltage is lower than spec also.

Ok, changing the multiplier just made the computer not boot. I cleared the cmos and thats fixed. I'll change windows power settings and update the BIOS now since the bios revision is at F2. I'm sure thats the issue

Why not keep it on? It saves power when you aren't doing anything, and as soon as you do something it clocks up.

One question, do I need to get each update between what I have and the newest or just get the newest?

In my experience, the most recent update includes all previous updates.

The only reason I question that is the fact that the file size of the newest BIOS is smaller than all the other updates.

Just the most recent one. Maybe they deleted a bad segment out of the previos versions. I put a link up in case you needed more information.

Thanks. Already flashed to the newest BIOS and now everything is working as it should No more 1.6ghz! Thanks for all the help everyone!
