i OCed my fx4100 to 4.4 ghz stable. passmark gives me a cpu score of 5100. is this score good? also what is the main test that indicates gaming performance in the cpu test? ( im not talking about the gpu test) is that floating point? not sure what they all mean

um your processor is over $300 dollars, mine is only $140. thats why yours is that high. take price vs performance into consideration

An overclocked i5-2500k gets nearly double your score and only costs $199 at microcenter. Its not the price/performance that effects the purchase decision, its usually uniformed buyer or best processor for the funds you had at the time.
Doesnt matter as long as your happy and it does what you need it to do. :)

LMAO actually an overclocked i5 2500k is alot less then double an overclocked fx4100. an i5 2500k overclocked is 7000
you learn something new everyday :- )

passmark sucks. don't use it. Llano scores like 7k stock cause of the igp. All intel cpus with integrated gpu also gets like a boost.

3dmark and pcmark are better but generally still not very good.

you are better off looking at gaming benchmarks.

A stock i5 is avg 6745 - almost 7k like I said.
heres the link: http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Core+i5-2500K+%40+3.30GHz

avg i5 oc'd is 8538 - a good OC's top out at almost 9k. I know this from personal experience.
Heres that link: http://www.cpubenchmark.net/overclocked_cpus.html

that smell you smell is probably the load you dropped in your pants now that you realize that your bargain aint so good and now the whole forum knows you can't even look up a benchmark yourself. <rolls eyes> call mne a fan boi... AMD 1055T @3.8Ghz here.

edit heres a link to a great OC @5Ghz with a 10k passmark score.
