[Upgrade] What kind of gaming performance increase will this hold?

I've already decided on all my parts, but I'm wondering if anyone more experienced than I with the whole upgrading game can elaborate on exactly how much of a performance increase I can expect.

Current System:

Mobo: DS3L LGA775
CPU: E2180 Dual Core (1.8GHz)
RAM: 2x2GB DDR2 PC3200
GPU: Radeon HD 4890 1GB

New System:

Mobo: LGA 1155
CPU: i5-2400 Quad Core (3.40GHz)
RAM: 1x4GB DDR3 1600MHz
GPU: GeForce GTX 560 or 560 Ti

Thank you! :D

  1. I've already decided on all my parts, but I'm wondering if anyone more experienced than I with the whole upgrading game can elaborate on exactly how much of a performance increase I can expect.

    According to:

    http://www.cpubenchmark.net/

Your 2400 will be almost 6x faster than your E2180.

Here's what you can expect from the upgrade from a 4890 to 560 ti:

This 560 ti is $40 off right now if you haven't already ordered:

  2. By any measure, the cpu upgrade is about as good as it can get short of a "K"

The graphics upgrade is also significant. but not quite comensurate with the cpu upgrade.

As a technical detail, why a single 4gb stick? Ram is cheap, get a matched 8gb kit up front,

If you never want 8gb, get a 2 x 2gb kit of ram to enable dual channel operation.
  3. There will be a massive increase of performance in every aspect.
