I'm new to system building. I'm on a mission to make the most future proof system for gaming while trying to avoid bottle necking my system. My budget is $1,000.00 and I've been doing extensive research and came up with this build. Let me know what you guys think and if I should change anything.
Sapphire 6950 2gb
Cooler master HAF 912
Asrock z68 extreme3 Gen3
Corsair TX650 650W
Intel i5 2500k
OCZ Vertex3 60GB
Corsair vengeance 16GB Ram DDR3
Seagate 500GB 7200 RPM
Samsung CD burner
Cooler master hyper 212 plus

I am using my cell phone to type this sorry if it's hard to read. The other thing I wanted to know is if everything will fit together so when my order comes there's no surprises when putting everything together. Thanks in advance for any help or guidance.

No system needs 16 GB RAM. 8 GB is fine.

do you plan on doing eyefinity with 3 monitors? if not, drop the 2gb of VRAM on that 6950.

case mobo cpu ssd is fine

i'd say get a better heatsink for your cpu since you're going to be overclocking with that mobo/cpu.

drop the ram down to 8gb please.

You definitely dont need 16 gig of RAM . Even 8 is over kill for most users .

I'd also suggest a SMALLER 40 gig SSD as a cache drive , rather than a boot drive .

The money you save on those changes could fit the cpu cooler or a bigger hard drive into your budget

What resolution is the monitor you will use?

No I don't plan on doing 3 way monitor. I'll look for a 1GB 6950. I was just having trouble finding a sapphire brand, XFX should be fine right? Are you saying get more cool master 212 or look for better cooling solution. The 40GB SSD's are only $10 or $15 cheaper so I figured why not just get the 60GB SSD.

Just pick 8GB ram over 16, everything else is fine.

My monitor is a 22" samsung 1920x1080. Should I be looking at the GTX560 TI cards because I'm having a hard time finding 1GB 6950 on newegg by Sapphire.

I also made an AMD build also from some of you guys advice. So I'll either go with the intel build or this build let me know what build you would go with both about the same price.

Gigabyte 6950 1GB
Gskill 8GB ram
HAF 912
Asus Sabertooth 990FX
Corsair TX650w
AMD FX-6100 Zambezi
Vertex 3 60GB SSD
Seagate 500GB 7200RPM
Samsung CD/DVD
Cooler master 212 Plus
