Okay I built this computer. It comes with an AMD FX-4100 Zambezi 3.6GHz Quad-Core and HIS H685FN1GD Radeon HD 6850 video card. Now I just installed 2Gb ddr 3 ram on it and am actually surprised at how good it seems to run with just 2gb ram. Now I am installing 12gb on it but I just want to know, does adding tons of memory make that much difference...and by tons I mean12, 16, 24gb ram vs 8-10gb ram.

More about : 8gb ram

for gaming and normal use, 8GB is plenty. for video editing, rendering, or the like, then more ram becomes beneficial.

For most people including hardcore gaming enthusiasts 8GB of RAM is more than enough.

Stick with 8GB. The money you save can be spent on a better cooler and Oc your CPU.
