Hi there,

I'm planning on upgrading the amount of RAM my computer has, and I wanted to ask whether or not a G.Skill DDR-3 8Gb /1600 KIT (F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL) would go well with my current configuration:

- G.Skill DIMM 4 GB DDR3-1600 Kit (F3-12800CL9D-4GBXL, RipjawsX)
- AsRock P67 Pro3, Intel P67, Skt. 1155, ATX P67 Pro3
- INTEL Core i3 2120 - 3.3/3MB, S1155, BOX BX80623I32120

Thanks in advance for the answers.

Regards,
Ben

I don't know what you're going to need 12GB of RAM for but yes the 8GB G.Skill will fit perfectly with your current configuration. Processors can use upto 32GB of RAM provided the OS is capable of it.

Thanks for the answer. Well, the silly reason is that it's very hard to buy the same 4Gb G.Skill where I am, but the 8 Gb is easy to come by.

I have 12GB of that exact RAM on my setup. I got a 2x4GB kit, then another later on and a stick died. Havent replaced it yet.

So yes it will work.

Thanks. I'm guessing the 8GBXL version would also be cool then? Just to be consistent with the looks :)

Yep, if anything its more ideal since the sticks are the exact same model, though I bet if you took off the heat-spreader there would be no difference.
