Hi Guys

firstly let me say that so far i have really appriciated the information i have been given when using this forum and certainly feel more confident when dealing with my pc but i have another problem.

I recently bought some new ram 8gb (2x4gb)Kingston Hyperx 1600mhz Ram but when i went into my bios i noticed the ram frequency was at 1066 so i amended it to the 1600 option and found that my pc would not load up (not even to the bios) and if it did it kept telling me that it had failed to boot on serveral occasions and to go back into my bios. so i changed it again to 1333mhz and same thing happens.
When i put back to 1066 it boots up fine. is this right or have i bought some dodgy ram from amazon

My pc is:

FX-6100
Asrock 970 extreme 3 Motherboard
700w PSU
2xHd 7770 Crossfired

64gb SSD
1TB HDD

8gb 1600mhz Ram

thanks

You can not just set the frequency to 1600. Make sure, all the ram setting are set to auto, then clear the cmos. If that doesn't fix it, download cpu-z and post a screenshot of the memory tab here.
