Will this resolution damage my monitor?

I created a new resolution in Nvidia Control Panel for using when I make videos for Youtube. It's set to force a res. of 2560 x 1080 (2.39:1 aspect ratio, also called cinemascope). I tested it quickly and it displayed just fine (aside from the picture being squashed to fit on my screen), however I'm not sure if it's a good idea for me to run this resolution. My TV's native resolution is 1680 x 1050. I didn't change the refresh rate at all, but still, will running this resolution damage my monitor or shorten its lifespan at all (it's a three-year-old Samsung LCD TV)?

no. not at all. its just scaling an image.
