F key steps/frozen loader/Asus netbook

Hello,
I am trying to help my mom over the phone. She has the exact same Asus EeePc netbook I do and both running win 7. I've been researching and this is a common problem.

Basically, if the netbook is in hibernate mode and loses power unexpectedly, it does something very odd. When you try to boot the computer you end up at the windows resume loader page where you are asked to make a selection. Problem is you can't. The keyboard won't work.

Apparently this bug does something to the hibernate file and disables the keyboard.

I have found a solution but the person only lists some of the steps. It was a tech forum so I assume it was clear to those users. That post is pasted in at the end of this message.

I am running Win 7 on Asus EeePC, as I said.

What I need are the F key steps (or other) one would use to be able to re-enable the keyboard in the settings before we hit this resume loader page.

The person in the partial message below mentions them but says "etc"... and etc doesn't really tell me anything.

found message:
"Hopefully your computer gives you the opportunity to visit you bios settings/ peripherals. You can usually access this at the very beginning of startup by following the prompts such as "F1, F9, DEL, TAB, "....etc. I am pretty sure that each Motherboard has a different setup. Once I found My way to the peripherals I was able to scroll down to "USB keyboard" and saw that it was disabled. I enabled it, saved those settings and continued on to the "RESUME LOADER" page that had not been responsive before and Ta-Da!!!! it worked."
