Brand new PC but horrific fps

I recently bought a new PC to upgrade my gaming experience, but my fps is making WoW unplayable. When I first log in to the game, I get a framerate of around 60 fps. That lasts about 10 minutes. After that first 10 minutes, the fps drops to 40-45, and a few minutes after that steadily declines until it hits 1 fps. Literally, ONE fps, which renders the game completely unplayable.

I have pasted my dxdiag stats below, can you tell me if there is something in the hardware which might be causing this? I have updated all my drivers and reduced all of the graphics to their lowest possible settings in teh game, but the problem still occurs. My old computer ran on Windows XP SP3, and I have tried running WoW with this compatibility as an administrator, but it's still happening.

Playing for 10 minutes and then restarting the game is not acceptable. Please help me.

Thank you,

  1. Quote:
When I first log in to the game

    are you playing wow online?
online gameplay is more dependent on the internet connection than on the pc hardware.
  2. Since when can you play wow offline...
  3. Maybe I wasn't clear in my description... my first 10 minutes or so of gameplay is excellent before the fps starts dropping. WoW is only playable online. I have verizon dsl with average speeds of 2700/700 (per dslreports).
