*sigh* My 8600GT appears to be dyeing and I need a good replacement for it with not a high price, or power consumption.
The side of my PSU says: +3.3V @ 20A; 5V @ 20A; +12V1 @ 18A; +12V2 @ 18A; -12V @ 0.8A; +5VSB @ 2.5A

My system specs are
AMD Athlon x2 64 6000+ @ 3.10Ghz
2x1GB DDR2 667Mhz; 1x2GB Kingston 800Mhz
1TB Hitachi 7200RPM 32MB cache.
MoBo: Gigabyte GA-MA69G-S3H
16X DVD/RW Label Flash.
Can you guys PLEASE help me. Will this card work on that PSU, it has a 6pin Power connector. If not which is the best card to get that will work on it. Just looking for something to last for another year or two until I can gather up some money for a new PC.

Yeah that psu will be ok, the 450 is not that power hungry of a card.
On a side note though, you should stick to one size, speed and brand of ram, when you mix them up it prevents them from running in dual channel mode cutting their speed in half.

I know but I was holding the short end of the stick on that one, I thought my RAM was dyeing but it was only the Motherboard so I went and got a Kingston 2GB stick of RAM. And that answer is a relief. In maybe less than a month I will be able to afford the GTS450.

Well it should be ready for everything, not Max graphics, of course but still low-medium graphics with a decent resolution (most games I play @ 1024x768 with AA on to lag my card less) Mostly for Battlefield 3, It was released yesterday and lags like crap even on the lowest possible settings.

Don't know if you've seen this:

They did a review of your power supply and found it to be the same as the 400w model. Should still be OK, but its good info to have if you do run into problems.

It was either this, or my old Codegen "400W" with a total of 15A on the 2 12V rails together LOL.
Anyway this power supply is still going to be able to power the confing above AND the GTS450 right?.

Yeah, with everything under max load you'd be getting pretty close to what the supply can handle, but it should be fine. Considering how cheap they are its actually a pretty decent power supply.

Ain't that 450w psu from Coolermaster the 420 or 400w psu which they just rebranded and sold it off for more?

Anyways 400w is enough why not go for the 6790?

That card is a bit too expensive in my country, and what is the power difference going to be between it and the GTS450?
