Motherboard 8 pin connector?

im getting M5A97 R2.0 today and i was just wondering will my psu work on it?

it needs 8 pin on atx12v1 and i only have 4 pin connector

how can we answer questions without specs???

but it should work as all PSU has a 8pin CPU power... unless it some mini itx one which uses 4 pin cpu power

That is not true.... if he has an older PSU then they all did not come with a 8pin. You can buy an adapter that will fix the problem.
