Reviving Old Q6600 Quad Core

Hi, hope I'm at the right place

My question is simple. I have an old inspiron 530 with an Intel core 2 quad core Q6600 @ 2.40Ghz and I wanted to use that processor in a new build and potentially overclock it, but that's another story.

So, here's my question : I chose some parts and was wondering if everything was going to be compatible

MOBO
RAM
CPU Cooler
GPU
PSU
Case to fit everything

I live in Canada and my family had great service from directcanada even tho they don't have everything like newegg.ca So I want to buy from them (directcanada)

One of my main concerns is RAM. I know it's clocked at 1600 and the board is limited to lower.

everything should work out. the ram would just run at a lower speed. I don't however know how well that board can OC and having a bit of extra speed in your ram would help when you OC.

ok thanks. Also, since I picked a semi high-end GPU, it would work with evrything else too?

BTW: Forgot to mention that the hard drive and dvd drive will be reused from my old pc

yes, the GPU should be ok, in gpu intensive games you would not be bottlenecked but if you aren't able to get a good OC, you might run into some bottleneck in cpu intensive games. Still wouldn't be a big problem.

Thanks a lot. For now, I'll save about 450$ (core i5 2500k and asus MOBO) and still be able to run my games on steam.
