Hi Ppl,

In the process of completing my first build in ages (years) so I need a little help.
I am at the stage where I need to connect all the front panel connections to the MOBO
I have a HAF X and a Ausu P9X79 Deluxe MOBO.

I double checked my connections and a good job I did because I had put the IEEE139a connector into a USB connector on the MOBO! (Yes it fits without suspicion in reverse)

I check the HAF X manual and it warns you very seriously NEVER do this as it will cause serious damage (p18).

My question is having looked at the board and searched around where the heck does it plug in on the MOBO I have?

I will no duout have a few more questions before I get he whole rig up and running but for now this is really bugging me.

Oh BTW NEVER NEVER NEVER Buy ANYTHING FROM WAE+ if you live in the UK. I am not just saying this because of my ongoing bad experience I should have checked them out first but I did'nt and like all these poor people http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?s=8a... I too am chasing my money back.

So please if you value your sanity and hard earned money DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SCAM COMPANY.

Now anyone got a helpful reply to my IEEE question:-)

Hi,
Indeed, do not connect the firewire to an USB header, or it will damage the board when starting it.
No IEEE 1394 connector for P9X79 Deluxe, so don't connect it.
The onboard ports:
1 x USB 3.0 connector(s) support(s) additional 2 USB 3.0 port(s) (19-pin)
4 x USB 2.0 connector(s) support(s) additional 8 USB 2.0 port(s)
4 x SATA 6Gb/s connector(s)
4 x SATA 3Gb/s connector(s)
1 x CPU Fan connector(s) (4 -pin)
4 x Chassis Fan connector(s) (4 -pin)
1 x Optional Fan connector(s) (4 -pin)
1 x S/PDIF out header(s)
1 x 24-pin EATX Power connector(s)
1 x 8-pin ATX 12V Power connector(s)
1 x Front panel audio connector(s) (AAFP)
1 x System panel(s) (Q-Connector)
1 x MemOK! button(s)
1 x TPU switch(es)
1 x EPU switch(es)
1 x Power-on button(s)
1 x Reset button(s)
1 x Clear CMOS jumper(s)
1 x Bluetooth v3.0 + HS header(s)

If needing firewire, you can install a PCI card.
