Justices Allow Tax Credit for Religious Tuition

The Supreme Court on Monday effectively upheld an Arizona program that aids religious schools, saying in a 5-to-4 decision that the plaintiffs had no standing to challenge it.

The program itself is novel and complicated, and allowing it to go forward may be of no particular moment. But by closing the courthouse door to some kinds of suits that claim violations of the First Amendment’s ban on government establishment of religion, the court’s ruling in the case may be quite consequential ...

Oh, boy. Ya think da Mex'cans stir up the good ol' boys in AZ? Wait until the Masjid Al-Rahma Madrasa in west Phoenix brings in 100s of practicing Muslims each year.

Maybe more. They accept donations through PayPal. :)

I have no problems with that.

Typically, property taxes support public education. If a family doesn't use public schools, why should that share of their property taxes go to support public schools.

omgamer, show me where the Constitution or the Bill of Rights mentions "separation of Church and State". This is another one of those things that has been warped out of recognizable shape.

The First Amendment states that "Congress shall make no law ...". That is so not the same thing.
