Recently my comp started acting like it had a virus, Flash would crash literally every 10 minutes watching YouTube and I'd BSOD several times a day (all errors were memory related). I generally wipe my SSD and do a fresh install of Windows every few months, so I figured now's as good a time as any. This has always fixed any slowness or other problems, but I finished the install last night, and I've already BSOD'd 4 times today, Flash is starting to crash again too.
Really weird part is, I'm getting specific "OUT OF MEMORY" errors, which is a load of crap because I have 16GB RAM and I've never used more than 9, and that was with about 50 Chrome tabs open. I originally disabled the pagefile because with my amount of RAM, I should never need it and SSD space is precious, but after the 3rd BSOD, I re-enabled it. And promptly crashed before I could restart. (It's on again though)
I've been stable for a few hours now, but the pagefile can't be at fault, can it? My normal day-to day RAM usage is less than 4GB, so I'm not even close to running out. I'm about to run memtest and see what it tells me, because my only guess is that my RAM is at fault somehow, it developed an error recently or something.
Any advice/tips before I go run out and buy new sticks? These are the sticks btw: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006JO2HBQ (bought 5 months ago) I only bought them for the dark blue to match my board, but wishing I went Corsair/Kingston now. That's what I'll be doing if I replace them.
