I'm researching into buying a new gaming computer, and i was wondering which would be better for what i need? the processors in question are an intel core i5-2400 quad-core (3.1 GHz) and an i5-2500k (3.3 GHz). is the quad core better or the higher speed? I mostly play world of warcraft, and honestly even an i3 is better than the macbook i currently play on, but i still want the best i can get.

More about : quad core higher speed

Both of those i5 CPUs are quad-core :)  the 2400 is locked (no overclocking) and the 2500k (note the 'k' means unlocked) is mainly for the overclocker. Though of course, you don't have to overclock even if you get a K processor :)

i5-2500k is the best choice here, they are both quad cores. Get the i5-2500k because you can overclock to achieve performance of the newer processors. Every year just keep adding an extra 200mhz and you will be perfectly fine.
