Can't run pc with 2.4ghz pentiium 4 processpr

i have intel motherboard with 1.7ghz processor, 2 gb ram and 80gb hard disk. NBut i want to update it so i tried to use other processor i.e pentium 4 only bu it is 2.4ghz but when i use it the system doesn't boot.... There is just a simple blank sceen

ok so google turned up the 1.7 ghz p4 as 400mhz FSB
There are 4 options for the 2.4ghz
400mhz FSB with 512kb Cache
533mhz FSB with 512kb Cache
533mhz FSB with 1MB Cache
800mhz FSB with 512kb Cache with HT
If you can get can get more info on the MB we might be able to narrow it down a bit more as to what cpu will work for that motherbaord
