Nah just go for it. The 2500K is a great CPU. As for the mobo I would get the P8Z68-V Pro/Gen3. Its a great mobo and it will support not only Ivy bridge if you wish to upgrade but also PCIe 3.0.

Budget for a board?

All of the following boards are good, they all support crossfire/sli and pcie 3.0 etc. It just depends on your loyalties.
I personally like the black pcb of the asrock and gigabyte boards, as I am an owner of the asrock z68 extreme 4 gen3 and gigabyte z68x-ud3h..
Low end:
Asrock z68 extreme 3 gen 3 <--- Best cheap z68 board that has all features most high end boards have.
Gigabyte z68x-ud3h-b3

Mid ranged:
Asrock z68 extreme 4 gen 3 <--- better board than the asus one, depends up to loyalty
Asus P8z68-v/gen 3
Gigabyte z68x-ud5h-b3

High End:
Asus p8z68-v Pro/gen 3 <--- Best price/performance board listed
Asus Maximus IV Extreme Z
Asrock z68 extreme 7 gen 3
Asrock z68 Fataility pro
Gigabyte z68x-ud7-b3
