Hello, I have an Acer 5920. It was not powering on I checked the ac adapter it is fine. I also checked the dc jack and noticed it had a broken wiring harness. Replaced that with a new one now it is fine. I am still not getting any power, lights, noise. Could someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks

Thank you, I kinda figured that is what it was. I did notice when I tried powering it on, the connection point where you plug the wiring harness in, it seemed to heat up and it kind of smelt like it was burnt out.

Yeah, I hope the hard drive is ok, there is a lot of stuff on there I need. Have any ideas on how I can test the hard drive?
Thanks again.

do you happen to have a desktop computer? if so make sure its off and blug a sata and power sata cable it and restart and it should pop up and install a driver for it. you may have to restart once more to get it to show up but most likely not. if it doesnt click etc and it shows up its most likely ok
