I have a ASUS P5KC Motherboard in which i am building a system around. I have a brand new Diablotek 500watt ATX power supply, New PNY 2Gb DDR3 1333MHz ram stick X2, New Nvidia GeForce 8400GS 1024MB DDR3 Video Card. 500GB SATA Hard Drive, New cables, etc.... It had a P4 800MHz processor. Will be upgrading to an Intel Core Duo E8400. The problem is, I have everything installed with the intel P4, and when i powered up the system, no video, no beeps, the fans run for 10 seconds, shut off, then start again. I've changed power switches, reseated everything including the Mobo, and still the same result.

I think the p4 is not compatible with your mobo, that processor is really old

AS I check the compatibility list, you are correct. It is compatible with Intel Celeron. I took for granted it was compatible since that was what was in it when I got the board. Thank you.

BAck to the problem, I have proper core 2 duo in the machine now, and it's doing the same thing. And yes, my mobo supports this processor.
