I am planning on a building a new PC for the first time. Now is a better then ever to build one, don't why I didn't try before. I don't plan on overclocking for this build by the way. Sli or crossfire is up in the air for me as the future goes so I'll just say maybe. Hope i picked out some decent parts but if not that's where your guys critiquing comes in. Oh, and i plan on it being within 900-1000 dollars hopefully.

One more question, actually 2 lol. Is a CPU cooler something I should get or is that just for when you're overclocking? Is the MSI Dvd burner even compatible? Not too sure if the boards have IDE connectors still. Thank you for your time.

For the money, I prefer the HAF 912 to the Antec 300 Illusion. I've worked with the HAF 912 but only seen the Antec 300, but i get the impression that the HAF is roomier. For the hard drive, the Samsung Spinpoint F3 500 GB is faster than the WD.

Stock cooler is perfect for stock clocks, so no need to buy another cooler for the i5 2500.

I changed a decent amount of my parts except for the processor and the video card. I got it all on friday and put it together. I was so nervous when it came time to turn it on lol but when it started just fine I was so happy. Everything seems to be running just fine and the system is staying cool. I ended up getting the HAF 922 case instead and I really liked it. Thanks for all the great knowledge that is here at this site, it helped me out a ton. I'm very happy that I built my own like I've always wanted to instead of buying it through someone. This site made it a lot easier, thanks :) .
