HP Slimline s3400f Upgrade

A few years ago, I bought a HP slimline s3400f, unaware of its deficiencies down the road. It is too small for many video cards, is prone to heat up in certain environments because of the close quarters, and given
integrated graphics
. :fou:

I have looked around the internet and have come to conclude that I need a new video card, which in turn also means a new power supply to bring this "bad boy" back to today's average.

I have found a 350w power supply that I believe will suffice, from that ugly demeaning old 160w.
here is that link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817338063

As for video cards however, I am stuck. I need a card that fits into the case without severing wires and breaking boards!
I was looking for an NVidia 64-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Low Profile Ready Video Card. If there is some slight tweaking of the case needed to be hacked away, I am capable of doing that, just nothing severe.

What are your recommendations for a new card?

Thanks!

  1. The best you could do with that setup is a AMD 6670 low profile card like this one. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102958&Tpk=6670
  2. Thanks for the reply, however I realized that the case lacked some space that the AMD card offers.

I bought this one instead. much shorter.
