Where is the bottleneck here?...

I have a GTX 560 Ti 2GB not overclocked, and a i5 2550k (yes, 50k, not 2500k.) @ 3.4Ghz. I'm pretty sure my CPU is fine, and the GPU is behind? I only get 40FPS in BF3. I am going to get a GTX 680 next week, Thursday. I am already set on this card. Will this improve and kill that nasty little bottleneck? If I should overclock something, what would it be?

With a GTX 680 in your sights you're heading in the right direction.

-> You can do some testing with overclocking and see if you like the results.
Test with the GTX 560 OC'd and OC'd with the CPU bumped up too.
That way you'll know how much extra sweetness you're buying the the GTX 680.

The Pentium G CPUs won't bottleneck a 560Ti ;)

It's definitely your GPU - I have the same bottleneck with mine and I run an i3-2120.

Resolution? Though upgrading to a 680 will be a nice choice :)
