ballocks the chart shows the x4 955 performing well above its price range keeping up with the 920.
i recently upgraded my whole rig from an x4 955 @4.2ghz to an i5 2500k now @ 4.8ghz all i do is gaming i thought i would notice a massive difference going by these sort of reviews but i have noticed virtually none i wish i just upgraded to a best of a gpu!!!!! if you want a 680 then you want to max every game out aa and every thing
so all the pressure if i could turn back time i would defiantly just upgrade the gpu

Yeah thats what I took away from the chart but we could be wrong. I just can't upgrade both right now. I plan on getting a ivy bridge cpu/mobo later this summer.

The reason it's lower is the temps are really high right now. I have a CM v8 cooler so the only reason I can come up with is the thermal paste hasn't been reapplied since I bought the system. Im getting some mx-4 in tomorrow so I should be able to go higher tomorrow.

THAT IS CORRECT +1 ^

Why don't you look through the benchmarks for all the games in that article?

If you game @ 1024x768 then an i5 2500K would make a huge difference but not at 1080P where the load is mostly on the GPU. HD+ the load is 99% on the GPU witch means an Athlon x4 3ghz would do.
