My computer crashes, supposedly by overheating but this not the issue?

Hi. My computer has lately been crashing or "powering down" by itself. Many people I've asked say either the vents are clogged with dust or the processor is weak due to overuse. I know it isn't dust because I opened up the laptop and made sure everything was clean. It still crashed so I think it was the weak processor. A message shows up that says something like "System OS checksum-bad-default configuration used". What does this mean?

I doubt that the CPU is causing the problems. That's generally one of the most durable components imaginable. I did a quick Google search and one possibility that came up multiple times was failing CMOS battery. You mgith need to get your CMOS battery replaced.
