No internet connection on 2nd wireless computer

Trying to setup wireless networking without using Charter's homenetworking system.

Charter just installed new modem (Motorola SB5101N) for my main computer.

I have added router (Netgear N300).

Works on my main computer (HP Touchsmart 300) running Windows 7.

PROBLEM is additional laptop (HP Pavillion dv7) running Windows Vista.
It will connect to router but not to internet.

Have followed all setup instructions for modem & router multiple times.

Know there is a setting that I am missing? HELP!

Go to Start, type "cmd" (no quotes) in the Search box, and hit enter. In the command window, type "ipconfig /all > temp.txt" (no quotes), and hit enter. Post the contents of temp.txt here.

Thank you to eibgrad for an answer that I really learned from.
As with so many things - Start with the basics!
With only this laptop having a problem, I did every update from HP that I could find. After I restarted the laptop -It worked with the router-!! Another reason to keep your computer updated.
