TWO HARD DRIVES BOOTING ISSUE

I have a laptop pavilion dv6 with a windows 7 64 bit premium

I have second computer that died

I have taken the hard drive out of the dead computer sata 11 and installed it into external HDD case,It also has a windows 7 64 bit premium OS install,,,,, both OS have separate key codes,,different one on each HDD

My question is how to boot from the second HDD,so that all the information is not lost,I want to be able to use both HDD

If you open the external hard drive using My Computer you will find many folders. Search for the documents folder or desktop folder to locate your data. If you need to boot your computer using the external drive you have to enter the bios and select it do so. For any help don't hesitate to post again.

It depends what type of files you want to load. Will you format the old sata drive and make it an external one? (i.e. will you remove windows?)

Well as I said it depends on what type of files you are interested in keeping.

Well then you have to boot your laptop using the OS installed on the external hard drive. This is the only way to load games etc... Regarding photos, videos, you can easily make a copy of them and transfer them somewhere on your laptop.

You have to enter your BIOS and go to boot priority. Do you know how to get into BIOS mode?

You need to enter your bios and change the boot priority so as to boot from the windows installed on the external drive. This will help.
