Intel INF drivers (needed?)

Are they really needed, are they only needed for Intel branded motherboards? I just installed Windows 8 64-bit but i am not sure they are needed or are they? I am running a Slot 775 system with a MSI P35 motherboard.

They are needed for any board which has an Intel chipset, whether it's an Intel-branded board or any other brand.

But i just installed Windows 8. This OS way newer than my system and i guess the inf drivers for P35 motherboards haven't been updated for years.

The reason i am asking is that running DPC Latency Checker it's reports my us being at 1000 when instead it should be under 100 atleast.

always go to intels website, and download the latest inf drivers. if you dont have them, you are losing performance.
