Hi everyone,
i am thinking of upgrading my gaming rig with another GTX 480. I currently have a Tuniq Potency 750W PSU. On hardwaresecrets.com there was a review about my PSU and it said that they could pull up to 937.4W before it shuts down. So my question is, can it run 2x 480's in SLI. My other PC specs are in my signature.
Here is the review:

480's in sli can pull roughly 500-800W!!! http://www.anandtech.com/show/2977/nvidia-s-geforce-gtx... Hm..it seems you will need to upgrade your power supply, however what games do you play? Anandtech tested crysis and Furmark which are VERY demanding on the gpu.

Thanks a lot for the fast reply.
I will be playing BF3, Metro 2033, STALKER Call Of Pripyat, Dirt 3, GTA IV, Starcradt 2....
I know i will have to upgrade to a 1000w+ PSU in the future, i am just wondering if i can run them for a short period of time.

You should be able to run them, however you might have to bring your 2500k back to stock clocks and possibly undervolt it. You want the most power for your gpu's.

I really need my CPU OC because i am often encoding video, compressing and uncompressing files. I think i will wait to get my other GTX 480 until i buy a new PSU. What PSU would you recommend that would handle both my 480's, my 2500K @4.4GHZ and maybe a physx card (i have a few GTS 450's laying around).

If you are even able to fit that physx card on...anyways compressing/uncompressing files depends on how fast your ram is not really on cpu. As for encoding video, what program do you use? Does it support CUDA?

Power Supply: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... This will be a good choice, at least the best price/performance I can see..

I am using Sony Vegas Pro 11. I don't think it suports CUDA but it does support GPU accelaration. And my motherboard can support a single slot card between 2x 2 slot card because it has 3x PCI-E X16. They are running at 16X-4X-8X. I won't try to run a Physx card with my current PSU. I was just wondering how much power it would require more if i am going to upgrade my psu.

Edit:I forgot to mention that my ram is running @1333MHZ.

That is exactly what you want! CUDA works perfect in vegas, cuts my rendering time by 3-7x! Encode with the sony avc profile and you will see a great performance boost.

Thanks a lot for all of your reply.
I guess i will get my 480 now, see if it runs with my CPU @4.4GHZ. If it does not i will just downclock my CPU. The OCZ PSU you pointed out looks nice but for a little bit cheaper and more wattage i could get this Silverstone 1200W PSU. I know their cases are awesome but i don't know about their PSU's.

The Silverstone Strider ST1200 1200W has its flaws. It all depends on if you can live with those flaws.
