Compatibilty

All HDDs should be compatable -
Except some VERY old HDD as I have Not tried a MFM or RLL encoded HDD. If Drive is a SCSI HDD, you need a matching SCSI controler card.

If Drive is a PATA (IDE) drive, then need to connect to the IDE port on MB.
Vast majority of Newer HDDs are SATA and require a SATA Port:
.. You can tell the diff by looking at the connector. IDE have a 40 Pin Data Connector, Newer SATA HDDs have a small data connector. Most all PATA (IDE) drives use the 4 Pin molex connector for Power while the SATA HDDs use the newer sata Power connector.
