Money isn't an issue here, I'm buying my first gaming rig and can't decide which cpu to buy. (I will be overclocking the cpu)

RIG:

I have my eyes mainly on the I7 2700k (still not 100% sure)

ASrock Z68 Extreme 4 Gen 3 mobo

Evga sc gtx 680

and a Hyper 212 Evo cooling fan

Thanks for the help

cheers. :D

+1 to evan1715, also get a gigabyte motherboard, it's much better especially in quality, you said money isn't an issue

also it's better to wait for IVB, it should overclock better

Build seems a bit unbalanced .....

High end CPU and GFX w/ budget MoBo (only 2 year warranty) and cooler

It is a bad time to but given that March - June brings all the new cards and CPU's.....with what ya got now .....

2700k for video editing , CAD rendering, large spreadsheets / databases etc
2500k for gaming rigs.

As for MoBo's I mostly use these:

$200 ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3

For cooler I'd move up from the Hyper 212 (I use to 4.4 - 4.5 Ghz) to the Hyper 612 PWM or Scythe Mugen 3 (4.6 - 4.7 Ghz) as a minimum to pick up 5-7C.... if money truly doesn't matter, the Phanteks PH-TC-14PE or Thermalright ilver Arrow which will easily get ya 4.8 - 5.0 Ghz, doesn't guarantee ya CPU can handle it, but if it does, heat won't be an issue

To allow for the addition of 2nd 680....

$250 Antec 1200 V3 or DF-85 w/ CP-850

$290 Corsair 500R w/ HX850
